Det var ikke nemme forhold der ventede de konkurrerende både i Italian Dragon Cup. 12 sejladser var arrangeret over torsdag til søndag, men halvdelen af sejladserne måtte aflyses, grundet de svingende vejrforhold. Den lette vind tillod kun en enkelt sejlads torsdag, som blev vundet af FIN-85. Fredag blev to sejladser sejlet, og Billy Boy, GER-10, førte nu med hhv. to andenpladser samt en ottendeplads. Da man måtte aflyse søndagens program, på grund af den hårde regn og utilregnelige vind, blev de tre sejladser lørdag også de sidste.

På en andenplads bag GER-10, kom ITA-56, Little Hook, efterfulgt af GBR-375, Blue Haze med Ivan Bradbury og de to danske sejlere Lars Hendriksen og Claus Olesen.

Efter det overståede stævne sagde Præsidenten af San Remo Yacht Club, Beppe Zaoli: “It was a competition of very high level, as proved by the names we can find in the first ten places of the final standings. We are very happy for the success of the event, despite the unfair weather conditions. Now, after the end of the Dragon Cup, our Club is going to face a long work which will lead us, in a year and through other important steps, to the 2014 European Championship where the best 80 Dragons will compete at Sanremo for the European title of this wonderful class”.
