The International Ranking List (IRL) has been in used now for several years. Many of the sailors concerned and the IDA Executive Committee have concluded that the  number of qualifying events for the International Ranking List (IRL) should be reduced.
The Executive Committee has therefore decided that from October 2013 the events that will qualify for the IRL are the IDA Championships (World Championship, European Championship and Gold Cup) the Grade 1 events, the National Ranking list (if any) for each country, and the National Championships in each country.

Results from Grade 2 events that are not National Championships will therefore not be used in the IRL calculation.  Please note these changes have no effect on the National Ranking lists whatsoever and National Associations still have full control over their grading and National Ranking systems.

No changes have been made to the method of calculating itself including the RL-factor or the M-factor.

A clarification has also been made about the number of IRL events in each country that can be counted in a year.
